Friday Night Review: Fairly routine night, except at The Mac (with video)

Friday Night Review
Itās abbreviated this week, one in which there was only mild, mild upset, a heart-stopper in the International City. See video at the bottom of the kick.

Class AAAAAA
Lee County 34, Houston County 0
Northside 23, Macon County 0 (Thursday)
No real surprise here in either case. Northside again relied on the leg of place-kicker Cory Munson, and Houston County had a notable visitor on hand, Michiganās Jim Harbaugh, to peek at Lee County
Class AAAAA
Warner Robins 52, Coffee 49
Jones County 48, Hampton 7
The Demons and Greyhounds are undefeated and right next to each other in the rankings. Jones County is not providing the drama of Warner Robins, winning by an average score of 44-12.
Class AAAA
West Laurens 30, Howard 18
Mary Persons 42, Spalding 18
Perry 49, Dougherty 8 (Thursday)
As per usual, Region 2 is shaping up to be pretty balanced, with basically five teams chasing four playoff spots (Spalding is already in a spoiler slot). Four teams have winning overall records, and 3-3 West Laurens got a need region-opening win against hot Howard. Upson-Lee is at Mary Persons after a well-timed week off.
Class AAA
Westside 28, Jackson 7
Kendrick 34, Rutland 31
Pike County 34, Central 12
So everybody in 4-AAA has a region loss. Except, of course, Peach County, which was off Friday. And Pike County. Those two are the only teams with a winning overall record. The next primary showdown is next, wth Jackson (3-3, 1-1) and Pike County (4-1, 1-0). Quality, quality win for Westside
Class AA
Dublin 19, Bleckley County 6
Dodge County 36, Northeast 13
Washington County 56, East Laurens 0
Putnam County 26, Oglethorpe County 8
Donāt look now, but Putnam County has topped its win total of four of the past five years and appear set for its fifth non-losing season in the last 10. And Region 3 is fixing to get mighty interesting with six of the seven teams capable of a playoff spot. Dodge County hosts Dublin and Washington County visits Bleckley County in a pair of āget to the stadium an hour earlyā type of games. Northeast and Southwest battle in a get-out-of-a-hole city showdown.
Ā
Class A
Taylor County 49, Crawford County 0
Stratford 30, Mount de Sales 13
FPD 35, Twiggs County 0
Aquinas 35, Hancock Central 14
Tattnall 42, Wilkinson County 14
Temple 46, GMC 0
Not a lot of suspense in the classification, with an average margin of victory of33 points. Taylor County shrugged off the close loss to Macon County in style, and Mount de Sales

Timeouts only prevented the inevitable for Warner Robins' Eli Mashburn from making the game-winning field goal against Coffee.
