Rough start, rough day for Henley
A double bogey on No. 1 set the tone for the day for Russell Henley, who managed only one birdie on a 4-over day at The Memorial.
That dropped the Maconite 15 spots to a tie for 38th after two rounds in Ohio. Henley made the cut by a shot, with a 5-over cut line.
Top-25 players like Nicolai Hojgaard, Min Woo Lee, Askhay Bhatia and Alex Smalley didn’t make the cut.
Henley hasn’t retained the steadiness that led to a win last week at the Charles Schwab
After a nice tee shot on 1, Henley found a bunker and then a rough en route to a double bogey. He added bogeys on 7, 8 and 16, with a birdies squeezed in on No. 11 to sit 13 shots behind leader J.T. Poston.
