Mayhem come back full barrels and thump Evansville
Macon and Evansville will finish things of Sunday thanks to the Mayhem's 6-1 win Saturday in the SPHL playoffs.
Kevin Irwin's first career hat trick led the Mayhem to even the series, and set up the rubber game at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Coliseum.

Mercer softball team picks up huge win at No. 5 Georgia, splits
Mercer came up big at the end with 3 runs in the eighth to beat No. 5 Georgia 5-2 in the opener of their doubleheader, UGA getting revenge 7-5 in the nightcap.
It was Mercer's first win over Georgia in 19 games, and Georgia's third home loss of the year.
Jones County grad Kylie Bass took the loss in the opener, and Stratford alum Mary Wilson Avant got the win in the nightcap for Georgia.

Braves blow huge lead in loss to Cubs
The Cubs scored nine in a stunning eighth inning and floored the Braves 14-10 in an odd and cold Saturday in Chicago.
College Baseball: Mercer offense controlled again in loss
The good news: Mercer wasn't shut out. The bad news: the Bears didn't score until the seventh in a 6-1 loss at Samford.
Samford (22-14, 9-2) won its 11th straight, and Mercer (26-11, 6-5) has lost three straight and five of its last six.

College Baseball: Georgia College thumps Flagler twice by the same score
The Bobcats cracked the 30-win mark with two 8-5 wins over Flagler in Peach Belt play.
Georgia College came back in both games, Perry alum Cal Gentry helping spark the second-game comeback.

College Baseball: Georgia holds on against Kentucky, then loses pitchers' duel
Georgia and Kentucky had the offense in the Bulldogs' 9-7 win, and then both had the pitching in the 1-0 Kentucky win in the nightcap.
