Mercer tries to stay perfect in state with Georgia Tech visit

Georgia Tech brings plenty of momentum from a series win over Florida State to Macon when it visits Mercer, off a surprising series loss at home to Mercer.

The Yellow Jackets are trying to avoid losing the season series to the Bears, who are undefeated against in-state competition. Mercer does not play Georgia this season.

Mercer is 26-8, only two games off of last year, when the Bears were 28-6 after 34 games en route to a 39-17 record.

College Golf: Mercer picks up two spots in Brickyard

A 3-over day helped Mercer slip into fifth place at The Brickyard women's golf tournament.

The Bears are at 601 after two rounds, 25 over par. Vanderbilt retained its lead with an improvement of nine strokes, and holds an 8-stroke lead over Old Dominion, with Kennesaw State third.

Mercer's Payton Schanen dropped from a tie for first into a tie for fifth.

MLB: Scherzer gets some revenge against Braves

Max Scherzer came up with a complete-game shutout against the offensively-thriving Braves 2-0.

Scherzer whiffed 10 to break the Nats' 5-game losing streak and give the pen a rest, the Braves managing only 2 hits.
