NCAA didn't rule C.J. Harris ineligible at Auburn
The local story last week about Warner Robins senior C.J. Harris being prevented from joining Aubur's football team as a preferred walk-on because of his cannabis oil medicine to counter epilepsy apparently was inaccurate. Auburn, according to reports, declined to clear Harris because of the condition, not the medicine.

Georgia and Central Georgians set for Women's College World Series
An SEC matchup on a national stage is nothing new, and that's the case Thursday night when Georgia and Florida battle in the Women's College World Series.
The NCAA's softball championship takes place in Oklahoma City, and the second sessions starts at 7 p.m. with the Gators and Bulldogs.
Georgia has advanced thanks to some Central Georgians. Jones County's Kylie Bass and Stratford's Mary Wilson Avant teamed for the first win in the Super Regional, and Avant got the second-game win. GMC's Kaylie and Karlie Harding play as well. Karlie has played, however, in only one game since March 14.
Florida is No. 2 and Georgia No. 7 in the double elimination tournament. The winner plays at 9:30 p.m. Friday against the UCLA-Florida State winner, the loser at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
All games are on ESPN or ESPN2.

Paine is the destination of Roderick Walker for track and basketball, Akirah Robinson for girls basketball, Makayla Ricks for softball, Tremaija Neal, Hezekiah Hartry, and Nysherria Braddy for track.
This Week's Honor Roll
Georgia College had three players named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America teams.
Senior pitcher Charlie Hecht, senior utility Nate Schmal made the second team, and senior outfielder Logan Mattix made the third team.
Schmal hit .417 with 40 runs, playing second, outfield, and catching (Mattix and Hecht stats below). ...
Georgia College's dynamic duo of Charlie Hecht and Logan Mattix added to the resumes, being named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-America team.Hecht, the consensus region pitcher of the year, made the second team, and Mattix, the Peach Belt player of the year, made the third team. It's the second year in a row the Bobcats had two players so honored.
Hecht went 11-1 with a 3.03 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 104 innings. Mattix batted .400 with nine homers and 67 RBI.
