Fried’s rollercoaster ride goes calm – and good – against Cards
Max Fried added to the drama that is Braves pitching by going more than six innings and striking out 11 in Atlanta’s 11-4 win at St. Louis.
Fried allowed four hits and had a shutout, which the Braves maintained until the ninth, when St. Louis scored four on Matt Wisler.
Ozzie Albies had three hits and two RBI and two runs, while Nick Markakis had two hits and a five RBI, four on a grand slam after Freddie Freeman was intentionally walked.
