Perez’s walk-off gives Macon a wild win

Johnny's new 2.JPG

The lower part of the lineup came up big for Macon, especially Andres Perez.

Perez, a catcher who plays at North Georgia, belted a three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th to give Macon a 14-13 win.

In Coastal Plain extra innings, a runner is put on second and first, and the inning continues as normal.

Florence scored two in the top of the 10th on a two-run single.

Macon’s Brandon Michie and Kenton Crawford were put on base, and advanced on wild pitches.

But the suspense was soon eliminated on Perez’s three-run homer.

Macon blew an 8-2 lead after five, Florence getting two in the sixth and seven in the eighth.

Perez, batting seventh, went 3-for-5 with six RBI and three runs. Michie drove in three runs, and Jared Kapturasky two on three hits.

Riley King and Jackson Jones each had two hits for Macon.

Macon (19-19) is at Forest City on Saturday and hosts Lexington County on Monday.
