Friday's Braves Report: Newcomb struggles, Culberson throws heat

A weird week continues: Culberson pitched, and threw heat in loss

Sean Newcomb was not the slumpbreaker he usually is, and the Braves were forced to put Charlie Culberson on the mound.

Culberson hit 94 mph and fared better than some of the Braves’ regular relievers, but Atlanta went down 11-5 to Colorado.

The Braves hoped Newcomb could get a few more batters out, but Chrlie Blackmon’s two-run triple turned the night to the Rockies.
