Coming: the first edition of scores around 11 p.m., a roundup by around 12:15 a.m., and the final edition of Central Georgia high school football scoreboard around noon on Saturday.

The scoreboard is up early and will be updated a few times during the evening with high school playoffs and colleges.

The Peach State College Football Scouting Report will appear before the first area kickoff.

 

UGA gives Taylor a raise, extension

          UGA women’s basketball head coach Joni Taylor is wanted in Athens for awhile longer. The school extended her contract into 2024 and bumped her salary to $750,000 a year.

          Georgia went 26-7 last year, its best mark in more than 10 years.

 

Hawks’ Collins to miss some time

          John Collins won’t be on the court for the start of the regular season, thanks to an ankle injury.

 

Bazemore is Atlanta’s last man

          Remember that 60-win Hawks season? Kent Bazemore does, and he’s the only guy left from that team.
