GHSA Class A rankings change little, seven area teams appear set for playoffs
Barring any demotions upon reviews or protest, it looks like Central Georgia will have seven teams in the Class A football playoffs.
Mount de Sales and Dooly County will be the only first-round home teams, the Cavs at No. 9 in Private and the Bobcats are No. 14 in Public.
Macon County and Taylor County in Public and Tattnall and Stratford in Private appear to have eked in.
The bubble teams had to wait for regions with subregions to determine championships and simply for games to be played out – including, obviously, their own – to see if they might get passed.
Macon County and Taylor County are 21 and 22, while Tattnall is 20 and Stratford 22.
The top 24 teams make it.
The only notable impact those region title games were likely to have regarded whether Mount de Sales, with a win, might get a first-round bye, which goes to the top eight.
As of Sunday afternoon, MdS was ninth with a 13.10 rating, behind Calvary Day and Fellowship Christian, tied for seventh with a 13.72.
Region champs get moved up in the rankings, but all of the region championships involved teams ranked about area teams, so little changed from Friday night.
