HS notes: Class A bracket (and 3A) finalized, TD Club honors three, AA bracket tweaked

Nothing changed, as expected, for the Central Georgia teams and the GHSA Class A playoffs.

The seven area teams expected to advance even before any adjustments did, all seven maintaining their spots in the Private and Public rankings.

Mount de Sales hosts Holy Innocents, while Tattnall travels to Wesleyan and Stratford back to Aquinas, a week after they played, the Eagles pulling off a 17-14 upset.

On the Public side, Dooly County is at home against Hancock Central. Macon County visits Chattahoochee County, and Taylor County is a ride to Charlton County.

In 3A, Peach County found out that it is hosting Ringgold.

Final ratings are here.

Club honors players from Northeast, Stratford, and FPD

A Raider, Eagle, and Vikings are the final winners of the regular-season.

Northeast receiver, returner, and safety Jacoby Hill is the co-back of the week after 179 yards rushing, 46 receiving, and 40 in punt returns for 265 all-purpose yards. He added six tackles, three for loss and a sack in the 47-16 win over East Laurens.

Stratford QB Christian Palmer is the other co-back, leading the Eagles to an upset over Aquinas with 179 yards rushing on 17 carries with two touchdowns, plus 9-of-13 passing for 66 yards.

FPD’s Wesley Wilson had seven tackles and four for loss on the line to earn lineman of the week. On offense, he helped the Vikings to 250 yards rushing.

Changes in AA bracket

There were some adjustments in the GHSA AA bracket, affecting two Central Georgia teams.

Dublin will now host Toombs County and Dodge County welcomes Jeff Davis, rather than the reverse.

The initial pairings would have pitted former Dublin assistant Lance Helton, now head coach at Jeff Davis, against his former boss, Roger Holmes.
