Braves Report
Worries about Mike Foltynewicz were sure unfounded.
He went seven solid innings, throwing only 81 pitches, to spark Atlanta to a 3-0 win to even the NLDS.
Folty struck out seven with no walks and three hits, and Atlanta – which led 1-0 early in the opener and lost 7-6 - got a little offense with Adam Duvall’s two-run homer in the seventh.
St. Louis starter Jack Flaherty was pretty good, too, with eight strikeouts, a walk, and eight hits, but he needed 117 pitches.
Foltynewicz and Duvall were both in Gwinnett not that long ago, and they came through in a must-win at SunTrust before nearly 43,000 on a muggy afternoon.
Next: Playoffs: Sunday, at St. Louis, 4:10 p.m., TBS; Monday, at St. Louis, 3 or 5 p.m., TBS; Wed., vs. St. Louis, 5 or 8 p.m., TBS
