Mount de Sales, ACE, and Rutland players honored by TD Club

          Three players were honored Monday night by the Macon Touchdown Club.

          Mount de Sales quarterback Dexter Williams is the back of the week after completing 9 of 11 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 13 times for 102 yards and a score in the romp over Pinecrest.

          Rutland linebacker Joseph Krietzer is the lineman of the week after racking up 13 tackles, five assists and a tackle for loss in the Hurricanes’ comeback win over Kendrick.

          ACE kicker Mason Maddox is the special teams player of the week after connecting on a 47-yard field, hitting both PATs and having two kickoffs for touchbacks in the loss to Central Fellowship.

 

Former Bleckley County coach arrested for “inappropriate relationship”

          An investigation of about a week by the GBI led to the arrest Monday of former Bleckley County assistant coach Brantley Collins for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a Bleckley County student.

          He was charged with a felony count of sexual assault by persons with supervisory or disciplinary authority.

          Collins last Monday after a complaint was filed by the Bleckley County Board of Education.

          He was an assistant football and basketball coach.

          The Bobcats open the season at a tournament in Due West, S.C. on Nov 8-9, after exhibitions at Georgia Tech on Oct. 20 and Middle Georgia State on Oct. 23
