Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl president and CEO and Georgia Sports Hall of Fame member Gary Stokan visiting Macon TD Club
Peach Bowl CEO and president Gary Stokan, one of college football’s movers and shakers, is Monday’s guest speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club.
The club meets at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, in the Rumford Center, at 304 Pierce Ave. It starts at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and the program to begin around 7. Cost is $30 for non-members.
FPD is the featured high school.
Paul Johnson, Jeff Monken, and West Alabama’s Brett Gilliland are the final three speakers of the regular season.
Stokan has headed the Peach Bowl since 1998, helping the game generate more than $1 billion in economic impact and $64 million in tax revenues for Atlanta and the state.
His work led the Peach Bowl – which has been a sellout in 18 of the last 20 games - to become a player in the College Football Playoff. Peach Bowl Inc. earned the Atlanta Small Business Philanthropic Award and was named among the top 10 small businesses in Atlanta.
He has also been president of the Atlanta Sports Council, and has earned high rankings among state and local business leaders. Stokan was inducted last February into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
The N.C. State grad has been married to wife Tia for four decades, and they have two children and three grandchildren.
