Houston County tops Bibb County in all-star game

The weather was pure football weather: brisk and cloudy, and mostly dry.

And most importantly, everybody got out of the first Bibb-Houston Senior All-Star Bowl at the Ed DeFore Sports Complex.
The visitors from Houston County took a 14-0 lead, gave up 10 straight, and got out of the game with a 21-10 win.
No stats were kept.
Bibb County couldn’t turn a good start into points, and Houston County, keyed by Houston County quarterback Max Rigby and a variety of weapons, took a 14-0 lead. A big play set up a Bibb County touchdown, and then the host couldn’t convert another big play and settled for an Elizabeth Rodenroth field goal.

Houston County, which put four of its five public schools into the GHSA playoffs and watched all four win at least one game while putting Warner Robins into its third straight state title game, added a fourth-quarter score to seal it.
Several hundred fans sat on the home side with the a number of food trucks that stayed busy during the action on the field, with a collection of Bibb County cheerleaders and band members.
