GHSA wrestling: Central Georgia sectional qualifying results, records; state up next

            As usual, Central Georgia will have a huge contingent for the GHSA traditional wrestling state championship this week at the Macon Coliseum.

            West Laurens and Mount de Sales qualified 11 each and Veterans 10.

            West Laurens enters with four sectional champions: Dre Bonner, Brent Carr, Chase Horne, and Spencer Dacus.

            Other sectional champs: Bryan Hernandez-Martinez of Houston County, Francis Morrissey and Kevin Reynolds of Veterans, Brycen Young of Mary Persons, and Austin Thiel and Zeke Taylor of Perry.

  The top eight sectional wrestlers in Classes 7A, 6A, 5A, and 4A qualify, while the top six in 3A, AA, and A.

            The meet begins Wednesday morning and goes through Saturday afternoon. Tickets are $14 a day, with a three-day pass for $34 and a four-day pass for $40.

            Action will be streamed on the NFHS network for a fee. Live stats are on www.trackwrestling.com.
