Six basketball players from Georgia College have made the Peach Belt Conference's basketball all-academic teams, two from the men and four from the women.
Senior Isaac Thomas makes his third appearance, with a 3.46 in accounting, It's the debut for sophomore Chapin Rierson and his 3.84 in accounting.
Thomas joins the elite group of Ryan Blumenthal (2016) and Josh Hurst (2011) as the only three-time selections.
Senior Sydney Cleveland has the Bobcat women's top ns the team's top GPA with a 3.53 in mathematics in her third appearance.
Erin Drynan is on for the first time with a 3.32 in exercise science with a minor in physical education. Sophomore Keyonna Wesley has a 3.44 in accounting with a management information systems minor. Sophomore DeLayne Rotolo also debuts with 3.43 in exercise science with a physical education minor.(2017) and Christina Thomas (2017) as the only three-time winners. ...
Mercer's Amanda Thompson has made the College Sports Information Directors of America academic all-district team for the second straightyear.
Thompson made the District IV team, and is one of five women's basketball players from Division I programs in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico, and is joined by Georgia State's Jada Lewis.
The star forward, an electrical engineering major, is now eligible for academic All-America honors to be announced next month.

Middle Georgia State's Joy Sadler is the Southern States Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the week.
The junior forward averaged 20 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while posting double-doubles in all three games. She shot 51 percent percent from the floor and 87 percent from the line.

Lauren King is the player of the week and Sarah Middleton the top pitcher.
King hit .714 with three doubles, two steals and four runs in two games, while Middleton was 1-0 with a 10-strikeout, one-walk shutout win. ...
