Beloved Peach State legends join the NFL Hall of Fame
Tony Gonzalez didn’t spend a huge amount of time in Georgia, but his impact was huge. Champ Bailey is a full-grown Georgia boy, from growing up to high school to college.
Few states can have the representation in a national hall in one year of inductions as Georgia does with an ex-Falcon and a former Bulldog, by way of Charlton High.

Henley in the hunt through three at Wyndham
Three weeks after his second-place finish in the John Deere Classic, Macon’s Russell Henley enters Sunday play in contention at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
Henley opened with a 69 and followed with a 64, and was inside the top 10 on Saturday. He had two birdies and an eagle to counter a bogey on the front nine for a 3-under, and then followed with two birdies and two bogeys on the back nine for 67, 3 under.
That gave him a 10-under 200 through three rounds, good for a tie for 25th when he finished in mid-afternoon with only a half-dozen players ahead of him also done.
He finished the day only four shots back.
He struggled at times on Thursday, with three bogeys on the back nine for a 69, 1 under. Henley followed with eight birdies and two bogeys on Friday for a 64.
Byeong Hun An has led each round, starting with a 62 and following a 65 for a one-shot lead after two. Players started closing in on Saturday, and he leads two players by one, one by two, and three more by three.
Arrest of Georgia Southern QB raising eyebrows
Police claim a substance on the hood of Shai Werts car, which was stopped for speeding, was cocaine.

Braves Report
Shane Greene blew a save chance and Luke Jackson saved it as Atlanta beat Cincinnati 5-4 in 10 innings in Trevor Bauer’s Reds debut.
Ronald Acuna’s single brought in Adam Duvall with the game-winner, Atlanta getting a pair of walks to start the 10th.

Savannah nips Macon
The hosts scored three in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead and beat Macon 4-2.
Colton Yeager had half of Macon’s hits, while Austin Thompson went 2 for 4 with two RBI for Savannah.
The teams, according to the league website, play Sunday at 7 p.m. in Savannah in the first round of the playoffs.
