Mercer baseball alum Lewis is just bombing away
Kyle Lewis joined the major leagues on Tuesday, and hit a home run. Then he did it again on Wednesday.
And then he did it again, on Thursday, becoming the second player ever to hit a homer in his first three games in the bigs. The first one? Colorado’s Trevor Story in 2016.

Philadelphia led 5-2 after three and staved off Atlanta 9-5 in another unpredictable night from Julio Teheran.
Teheran lasted four innings, giving up five runs on five hits with three walks and a strikeout. Philadelphia’s Drew Smyly went four innings, coughing up four runs on four hits with six strikeouts and a walk. The two starts gave up a combined five homers.
The Phillies got three insurance runs off of Anthony Swarzak – the sixth of seven Atlanta pitchers - in the eighth.
