Bleckley County 38, Dodge County 33

          The Indians got the ball back on a fumble late in the third quarter, but were held and turned it over on downs with a half-minute left. Dodge County scored in the final seconds of the second quarter with a 21-15 lead.

Wheeler County 44, Hawkinsville 34

          Hawkinsville went down by three touchdowns and came back to within a score, but couldn’t get any closer.

GMC 48, John Hancock 0

          The Bulldogs topped the GAPPS program by  recording its second shutout of the year and most points since beating ACE 63-0 in 2018.

Washington County 31, Lamar County 6

          It was tied 3-3 after one, but the Golden Hawks got a 51-yard run and 2-yard run in the second quarter for a 17-6 halftime lead, adding a big-play score in the third and in the fourth quarters.

 

Softball

Bleckley County 7, Lamar County 5

Crawford County 7, Glascock County 3

          The Eagles put four across in the top of the 10th after Glascock tied it with three in the fourth. Riley Scaggs had three hits – single, double, and triple – and four RBI, while Selena Linsenbach, Rylie Youngblood, and Mary Kathryn Mason had two hits each. Scaggs and Kryssi Maddox teamed up in the circle. The first two runs in the 10th came on Selena Linsenbach’s double to left. Maddox then needed five pitches for a 1-2-3 bottom half.

Crisp County 8, Mary Persons 2

East Laurens 14, Putnam County 5

          Laura Young drove in six runs with two hits, with two-hit games coming from Madison Johnson, Kristen Hubbard (each with two RBI and two runs), and Emily Brown. East Laurens had five errors and Putnam County seven, for a combined 12 unearned runs. Sara Hulsey had two hits for Putnam County.

GMC 8, Houston County 5

Jackson 12, Central 0; Jackson 6, Central 0

Jasper County/Monticello 4, Dodge County 1

Mount de Sales 4, ELCA 0

          Chloe Nepveux and Jordyn Partain teamed for 11 strikeouts and two walks in the one-hitter. Heartly Nepveux had two hits for the Cavs, who survived getting struck out 11 times and stranding nine runners.

Ola 11, Tattnall 4

          Ola put it away with four in the sixth against the Trojans, who managed just six hits, two from Lindsey Paul.

Rutland 9, Stratford 3

          The Hurricanes blew open a close game – and 3-1 deficit – with eight in the fifth, aided by some of Stratford’s six errors. Amber Summerday had two hits for Rutland and Taylor Stewart two RBI and two runs. Stewart teamed with Kinleigh King in the circle. Paige Gray had two hits for the Eagles.

West Laurens 9, Howard 1

          The Raiders put up four in the first inning. Caroline Palmer had three while Emma Riner, Makayla Royster, and Camryn Stokes had two each.

ACE 2, Rutland o (25-19, 25-12); ACE 2, Jones County 0 (25-19, 25-21)

          The Gryphons took a pair on senior night, and now await A/AA playoff pairings.

FPD 5, Strong Rock 1

The Vikings won the Region 1a-/Private title.
