Around/About Central Georgia
Good news for a few area teams after GHSA coin toss
Ouch. Central Georgia is 5-8 on the GHSA quarterfinal coin flip, held Wednesday afternoon.
If the seeds are the same next week, the top team in the bracket is home.
This is good news for Jones County, Perry, Dodge County, Dublin, and Hancock Central, who will be home next week if they win. Upson-Lee and Bleckley County are the only four seeds left, and travel no matter what.
The area’s other GHSA survivors – Warner Robins, Baldwin, Peach County, Central, Northeast, FPD, Stratford, and Macon County.

GAPPS prepping for football finals
Two Central Georgia teams will play for Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools 11-man football championships on Friday.
John Hancock faces Lafayette Christian in LaGrange in the Class A game while Central Fellowship hosts Flint River in the Class AA game.
Four teams make the playoffs in each class. CFCA advanced by forfeit. John Hancock beat top seed Georgia Christian.
No scores are posted on the GAPPS website. The association also sponsors 8-man football. As per the website, CFCA is 9-1, Flint River 7-2. There appears to be no Class A, with John Hancock listed at 1-6 as a Class AA program, and Lafayette Christian is 3-6.
Only nine teams are listed in AA and four in AAA.
