Around/About Central Georgia

Dooly County pulls plug on fall sports indefinitely

The latest Central Georgia program to take a major COVID hit for the fall is Dooly County.

The system announced on Facebook Monday afternoon that it was suspending fall sports indefinitely. That sidelines softball and football.

Superintendent Craig Lockhart noted the spread of the virus in the county as well as the state.

Crawford County announced Monday that its football team is sidelined until Aug. 25 because of a positive test by a coach.
