Savannah stymies defensively challenged Macon
Savannah doubled up Macon in hits and tripled up the hosts in runs with a 9-3 win Sunday.
Macon committed six errors, but only credited one unearned run. The Bananas had 18 hits to eight for the Bacon.
Luther Woullard, Kole Kaler, and Freddy Achecar had two hits each for Macon, which struck out 11 times.
West Laurens grad Bill LeRoy and Mercer’s Bill Knight each had two hits for Savannah.
The teams play again in Macon on Tuesday.
