Virus eliminates Friday's Stratford visit to Westfield, Hornets join Perry on sidelines

Westfield announced Thursday afternoon that the game has been cancelled due to a student testing positive for COVID-19.
The Hornets also lose next week’s game against Baconton Charter, with a JV game against Tattnall as well. Westfield varsity football will be sidelined until Sept. 28, as per state and regional guidelines.

“The health and well-being of our students, teachers, and staff is of the utmost importance. We will continue to work closely with local public health officials to ensure the proper recommendations are followed to identify close contacts. We will continue to deep clean and disinfect the school campus,” said William Carroll, Head of School, in a release.
Westfield and new head coach Rob Fitzpatrick are 1-0, and are now next scheduled to play Southland on Oct. 2.
Westfield joins Perry as the first Central Georgia teams to lose games since the start of the season.
