Dodge County at West Laurens
          The Indians exorcised some demons from evne last year with the impressive win over Dublin, while the Raiders were thumped by a ranked 5A team. One team has momentum, the other doesn’t.

Griffin at Peach County
          No doubt Peach County will make some of the normal week-1-to-2 improvements, but Griffin is a quality 5A program off a thumping by Lowndes.

Howard at Northside
          It’s Howard’s debut, so we just don’t know. Northside has momentum and confidence from last week’s mild upset at Peach County. The Huskies have some new skill people, but are experienced up front, and that’s huge. This is an underrated game, and a quality win for whoever survives.

Jones County at Veterans
          Granted, Jones County has played an absurd schedule so far, and done so at home, in something of a transition year in some positions. But the Warhawks are not the team to overlook in Class 5A. Sure, West Laurens is way down, but 35-0 over a quality program is 35-0. Veterans D is making a name for itself, but a challenge awaits.

Lamar County at Jackson
          The schools aren’t that far apart, yet don’t play very often. This is the third meeting since 2016 after an 11-year span of not meeting. Jackson was off last week, and the Trojans rolled again. It’s a road game, but Lamar County has the momentum and confidence.
