The Warhawks broke a 4-4 tie with three in the top of the seventh and then stymied Woodward’s rally at a run. Veterans got run-scoring singles from Jamey McDaniel, Brennan Mercer, and Tanner O’Neal in the seventh to take the lead. Woodward got a two-out run, and Veterans gave up an intentional walk to set up a forceout, but Mercer got a three-pitch strikeout to end it. The teams combined for 23 runners left on base, and Veterans struck out 12 times.
