The Bears gave up no free passes in the opener and took advantage of 3 unearned runs. Mary Persons was outhit 8-6 in the nightcap and did manage a walk, a 1-0 lead after one turning into a 5-1 deficit after 2. Mary Persons finished 19-11.

Banks County, which outhit ACE 6-2, got the only run needed in the fifth. ACE was unable to manage a walk in the opener. The Leopards trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the third and tied it, then pulling ahead with 4 in the fourth and clinching it with 3 in the fifth to end ACE’s season at 23-10. Avery Stone and Sophie Denney each had 2 hits for ACE, which managed 4 walks but was struck out 7 times.

It was 3-2 from the fourth inning on, the Trojans unable to get any offense going after that in a 4-hit game. Down 4-2 after 3 in the nightcap, Lamar County put up 6 runs in the fourth, which Dade County countered with 2 for an 8-6 Trojans lead. Dade County scored one in the bottom of the seventh, but starting pitcher Kylee Knighton left the bases-loaded by getting a game-ending groundout to third. She fanned 7 aand walked 3 in the complete-game 8-hitter (with 4 unearned runs). Bailey Gunter had 3 hits for Lamar County, with 2-hit games from Keeley Smallwood (3 RBI), Caitlynn Whitaker (3 RBI), and Brayleigh Ziehm, to force Thursday’s finale.
