The waiting game is over for everybody as the GHSA finalizes the playoff pairings; second round set for GIAA

          Not there’s a rush, since the GHSA playoffs don’t start this week, but anxiety was cleared away for some Central Georgia teams on Sunday.

         ACE, Washington County, and East Laurens got at-largest bids to the Class A/Division I field, giving Region 1 seven teams again.

         Westside squeezed in the Class AA field at No. 29 in Spoon Risper’s final season running the Seminoles, but they get region rival and power Morgan County in the first round.

         There were no at-large teams from Central Georgia in Class AAA.

         Among the notable first-round matchups: Northeast hosts Fannin County in a rematch of a second-round game last year. There’s a repeat for region rivals Washington County and Dublin.
