Central Georgians made GIAA all-star teams
Nearly two dozen players from Central Georgia schools were named on Sunday to all-star football teams.
The initial GIAA posts never indicated what the selections meant, but there was an all-star game on Thursday at Mount De Sales’ Cavalier Fields.
The teams posted included several players participating in Friday and Saturday’s state championship games, so they were not going to play in the all-star game, but were selected anyway.
The all-star game followed the GIAA’s flag football state title – won by St. Anne-Pacelli over Mount de Sales – and the 8-man finale – taken by Sherwood Christian.
No other pregame or postgame information was made available.
On the Red team: FPD’s Major Simmons and Breck Griffin, Brentwood’s Abe Williams, CFCA’s Judson Walls, Tattnall’s J’Marcus Curry, Westfield’s Matt Molina, and Windsor’ Dawson Sims.
On the Blue team: Brentwood’s Riley Helton and ZJ Scott, FPD’s Brady McHugh, Gatewood’s Ben Brannen and Mason Sinclair, John Milledge’s Rhen Prior and Bryce McDonel, Piedmont’s Braxton Floyd, Stratford’s Maddox Whitehead, Trinity Christian’s Wade Register and Jakob Sahli, Westfield’s Thatcher Reddick, and Windsor’s Blayne Bennett.
