Mount de Sales’ Williams back in the portal
A day before his third college football team was set to play – surprisingly – in a bowl game, Mount de Sales’ grad Dexter Williams announced he was transferring.
Williams posted on Dec. 18 that despite the joy of being part of a conference champion when Kennesaw State won the CUSA title in only its second year of FBS football, he was re-entering the transfer portal.
Williams played in eight games in his lone season at KSU, going 67 for 125 (53.6 percent) for 787 yards, with six touchdowns and three interceptions. He ran 41 times for 153 yards and three scores.
The 2022 MdS grad has played one season at Indiana, one at Georgia Southern, and one at Kennesaw State, battling injuries at Indiana.
He has completed 93 passes for 193 yards, 51.3 percent, for 1,219 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Williams has rushed 94 times for 363 yards with five touchdowns.
The Owls finished a surprisingly successful season with a 41-6 loss to Western Michigan in the Myrtle Beach Bowl. Starting quarterback Amari Odom has also announced he’s in the portal.
