Alums in the bowls, postseason

What have some Central Georgia alums done in the CFB postseason?

          Northside’s Ricardo Jones had four tackles and Warner Robins’ Vic Burley three tackles in Clemson’s loss to Penn State.

          Jones finished eighth on the team with 39 tackles and led the Tigers with six interceptions, also returning a fumble 24 yards. Burley played in 13 games and had 8 tackles, a breakup, and two hurries.

          Peach County grad Noah Whittington ran four times for 24 yards and caught a pass for12 yards in Oregon’s 51-34 playoff win over James Madison.

          Dodge County’s Duke Johnson played for Alabama against Oklahoma, but registered no stats.

          Upson-Lee’s T.J. Searcy, a transfer from Florida, had three tackles, one for loss, in Texas A&M’s playoff loss to Miami. He finished with 31 tackles in 13 games with 2 breakups and 2 hurries.

          Perry grad Jordan Donald and Warner Robins’ Cam Flowers both played in Western Kentucky’s 27-16 win over Southern Miss in the New Orleans Bowl. Flowers, a receiver, completed his lone pass attempt.

          Nearly two dozen Central Georgia underclassmen were part of the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association football all-star games Monday at Thompson Stadium.

          Another nine area head and assistant coaches were on staffs.
