A seven-point FPD lead with 3:39 left in the third became a tie game in less than 90 seconds, Pierce Moore tying it with 2:13 left only for the Vikigns to take a 38-36 lead into the fourth. Calah Foston scored on four straight trips for John Milledge — the last on a nice bucket low off an inbounds pass from the side — and suddenly the Trojans were up 45-41 with 2:47 left in the game. It was tied at 47, but a left-handed shot in traffic in the paint from Moore — her only points of the quarter — gave John Milledge the lead with 18 seconds left. Foston and Moore had 15 each for John Milledge, while Bowen Matthews led FPD with 17. Elcee Leslein adding 14.

Mount de Sales 38, Tattnall 27
Mount de Sales’ defense led the way as Tattnall had a rough shooting night. The Trojans were 1 of 16 on 3-pointers and 12 of 22 at the line, making the comeback difficult. Payton Latimer led the Cavs with 14 points, hitting a pair of threes. Three teammates added at least five points. Annamary Talcott led Tattnall with 10 points in its second straight game of 27 points.

The Trojans got an early lead and expanded it over the region tournament host. Isaiah Johnson led John Milledge — which put eight in the scoring column — with 12 points, Jones Handberry turning in a game-high 17 points for FPD (5-20).

Mount de Sales 68, Piedmont 61
The Cavs were in control for three quarters, but the Cougars made them sweat with a fourth-quarter rally that Mount de Sales held off after the deficit dropped to five after reaching 20. Piedmont’s Corbett Crews went off for 29 points, going 15 of 18 at the line, Piedmont getting 14 from Chase Taylor and 11 from Camden Moss. Mount de Sales showed impressive balance, with 16-point nights from Zavion DeShazier, Rowley, and Alex Roseboro.
