Around/About Central Georgia
Henley hit by big bogey bug
Five bogeys for a round is bad enough.
Five bogeys in a row?
That’s the run Russell Henley had on the back nine in Saturday’s third round of The Genesis Invitational, dropping him 19 spots into at tie for 33rd, 2 over for the weekend.
Henley had two birdies in the first 11 holes, then improbably reeled off five straight bogeys before ending the day with two pars.
During that nightmarish stretch, little went right in any phase for Henley, the positive being he avoided any double bogeys.
Still, he’s only 10 back of leader Patrick Rodgers, and five from perhaps a top-10 finish.
