Veterans loses a hoops coach, and gets one
Brandon Driggers is changing jobs, but not going far. Maybe a seat.
The Veterans boys basketball X page posted Friday afternoon that Brandon Driggers is the Warhawks’ new head boys basketball coach, replacing Chip Flemmer.
Flemmer posted earlier Friday afternoon that he had resigned, and departs after three seasons with a 49-36 record and three straight playoff trips.
“Congrats to my right-hand man @CoachDriggz
on taking over the program,” Flemmer wrote. “Great things ahead. Not sure what is ahead for me but God has a plan!”
Flemmer, a California native who grew up in Washington, came to Veterans after a year at a high school in Indiana, which followed almost a decade at Cambridge in Milton, where he was the program’s first head coach.
Driggers is the Warhawks’ fifth head coach, and third since 2022-23. Flemmer succeeded Brett Hardy, who left after four seasons to take over at Westfield.
Driggers graduated from Georgia Southern and got his Masters from Georgia College. He’s in his third year at Veterans. He graduated from Toombs County in 2012.
