Who’s left in GIAA playoffs?
School is pretty much out, but there are a few high school games – big ones – left to be played, and Central Georgia is still alive.
Central Fellowship’s girls soccer team has a short road trip north to face Westminster Christian in the Class AA final, at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Stratford.
All soccer finals are at Stratford on Tuesday (girls) and Wednesday (boys).
Stratford’s boys go for the repeat on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against St. Anne-Pacelli.
The baseball finals series begin on Thursday with four classes at new Synovus Park in Columbus.
Gatewood goes for the Class AA boys state baseball title against Southwest Georgia at 1 p.m. Thursday.
And the Class AAAA final is a rerun of last year’s matchup in Macon at Luther Williams, with top seed FPD facing second seed Brookstone, with the final game of the day.
The times remain the same for the second games on Friday, with Saturday’s third games to be determined.
All GHSA championship play for the spring was completed last week.

Tech is the rare ACC regular-season champ not to get a regional bid, passed up by tourney champ North Carolina, runner-up Clemson, and Florida State, who got regionals
Georgia Tech went 1-1 in the ACC Tournament, losing 9-4 to No. 5 seed and eventual runner-up Clemson. The Yellow Jackets last hosted a regiona in 2019, but haven’t gotten out of regional since 2006.
Head coach Danny Hall is retiring at the end of the season.
Georgia Tech will be a No. 2 seed, most likely at Tennessee, Clemson, or Auburn. The full field will be announced at noon on Monday.
The Yellow Jackets and Georgia will be the only state teams to keep playing. Kennesaw State has a No. 56 RPI, the best of the rest of the state teams, but is only 31-27 after going 2-2 in the CUSA tournament, and won’t get an at-large bid.
Mercer is No. 73, far from a shot at an at-large. Other state RPIs: No. 149 Georgia Southern and No. 182 Georgia State.
