The Knights’ season ended Saturday at 30-23, losing Thursday to Tennessee Southern 7-6 on Thursday to fall into the losers’ bracket.

Stratford, Brentwood take GIAA state track titles
The boys of Brentwood and girls of Stratford won state GIAA track championships.
The three-day meet was held at Strong Rock Christian in Locust Grove.
GIAA track has two classes for state track, AA and AAA. Stratford competes in AAA, Brentwood in AA. Brentwood’s girls finished second in Class AA,
The GIAA posted pictures of state champs and some record-setters on Saturday, but hasn’t posted any results or other information on the meet.
The GIAA has yet to post the state team tennis results. That tournament concluded on Wednesday.
According to Stratford social media: Kelly Grace Perrin was the meet points winner, with first in the long jump, second in the triple, and third in the high jump. Cortdtney Galoia set a school mark in taking second in the shot put.
Central Fellowship posted on social media that Abbie Forbus won the 1,600 meters and was second in the 800, and Maree Jackson was second in the high jump and 100 hurdles.
SB-Middle Georgia State takes SSAC championship
Mel Bullock doubled, advanced on Madisyn Riggins’ grounder, and came in on Gabbie Haas’ single to left in the fifth inning, and that one run stood up as Middle Georgia State edged Williams Carey 1-0 for the Southern State Athletic Conference softball tournament championship Sunday in Decatur, Ala.
The top-seeded Knights (38-8) advanced to the tournament championship game with the first win on Sunday over William Carey amid a rescheduled tournament.
The Knights had also already beaten Tennessee-Southern, which battled William Carey on Sunday in an elimination game to face MGSU for the championship. Then William Carey got another crack by beating T-S. SSAC pitcher of the year and Knights record-setter Emily Proctor (25-2) went the distance, striking out 5 with a walk in the 4-hitter.
