Henley maintains at Travelers
Russell Henley repeated on Friday what he did on Thursday, on paper, and moved up a chunk at the Travelers Championship in Conn.
He had more birdies and bogeys in the second round than first, but matched the 2-under 68.
Henley is joined in a tie for 13th with Wyndham Clark 5 back of tri-leaders Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, and Tommy Fleetwood.
As steady and unspectacular as Thursday was, Friday was more of a ride.
He took a penalty on No. 8 en route to a bogey muddled through a routine No. 12 for a bogey with a two-putt, and again couldn’t convert a par putt from inside 8 feet on 17.
Conversely, his 32-footer on 5 was an inch from a birdie, and he nailed a 19-footer for par on 18.
Henley tees off with Wyndham Clark at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday.
