The Royals needed only 3 hits, thanks to 5 errors, 17 walks, 9 wild pitches, and 2 hit batters. Only 5 runs were earned.

Cadence English drove in 5 runs with 4 hits, starting the game off with a 2-run homer in the first. English and Natalie Collins led the parade of 22 hits with 4 each.

Lily Arthur’s 3-hit, 5-RBI night led Gatewood, which put up 9 in the first. McKenna Riser added 4 hits and 3 runs, and Avery Hill 2 hits and 3 RBI. Anna Sweatt had 2 of CFCA’s 5 hits.

The Bears led 5-3 after 3 and sealed it with 2 in the sixth. Eight Bears had a hit and five drove in a run.

A 12-run third ended it early. Peach County needed only 6 hits, thanks to 7 errors, 9 walks, 4 wild pitches, and 6 hit batters. Only 7 runs were earned.

Five runs in the third put the Panthers in charge, Perry aided by errors. Rachel Driver and Rayanna Harrell had 2 hits and 2 RBI each, and Abigail Nails had 2 hits. Kylie Graham and Nails teamed for a 5-inning 1-hitter.

Thomas County Central 16, Northside 0

The Warhawks held off a seventh-inning rally to win. Rayven Hodridge led Veterans with 2 hits.

The Golden Hawks managed 18 runs on only 9 hits, led by 2-hit nights from Emma Pool, Katie Burden, and Makayla Wiley.

Alumni Update/Honor Roll
Seminoles and an Eagle top first Macon Touchdown Club list
Two players from Westside and one from Stratford are the first Macon Touchdown Club players of the week.
Back: Junior running back Tyliek Flint of Westside rushed 21 times for 171 yards and two scores the 41-34 win over Howard.
Lineman: Senior defensive lineman Kenneth Hogges of Westside had a night, with 12 tackles, two sacks, five tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and two blocked field goals in the win.
Special teams: Junior multi-position starter George Dunn of Stratford put three of four kickoffs in the end zone and was perfect on seven PATs tries in his debut as Stratford kicker in the 49-17 win over St. Anne-Pacelli.
Mark Schlabach of ESPN is the club’s first speaker when it gathers together for the first time this season at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth on Sept. 8. Here is more info.
