Around/About Central Georgia
Troup overcomes Baldwin’s good start
An 80-yard touchdown pass from Kam Patterson to Tavares Hooks on the first from scrimmage may not have been so good after all.
That huge play by Baldwin might have alerted Troup from the start that the Braves were there to play.
Troup trailed 6-0 and 12-8, but took over after that with 28 straight points en route to a 63-32 win Thursday in a battle of Class 4A’s top teams.
Troup is a consensus top-3 team, and Baldwin came in No. 12 in a composite poll.
QB Chase Mosely threw for 6 touchdowns while Javarris Warner added three on the ground for Troup, which led 43-18 at halftime.
Warner went 99 yards for the Tigers’ final points, with 2:27 left in the third quarter, en route to more than 300 rushing yards.
Is a big payday coming for former Mercer quarterback?
