With Dodge County up 6-4 in the sixth, Colton Brown delivered a one-out double followed by a hit by pitch. Trey Cannida’s grounder advanced the runners, and Ty Mobley was walked. Brown scored ona wild pitch to tie, and then Will Tatum’s two-run single to right field put the Golden Hawks up 9-7.

Around/About Central Georgia

CGTC set for brunch-time tournament game

          The wakeup call for Central Georgia Tech before its first national tournament game in the women’s program’s

History is important.

          After all, tipoff is early, 11 a.m. at McNeese State in Lake Charles, La. The game is on ESPN+.

          That’s when the Titans take on State Fair Community College (Missouri) in the National Junior College Athletic Association tournament opener.

          CGTC is 21-7 while State Fair is 28-2.

          State Fair earned an at-large bid after losing 74-62 to Three Rivers College in its conference tournament. Three Rivers won 60-51 in late January en route to winning the Central District.

          Former Dodge County standout Laterria Green leads the Titans with 19.5 points and 14.6 rebounds.

          Veterans grad Yesaira Ortiz chips in 6.7 points and 1.4 rebounds. Peach County grad Cierra Gibson has played in 23 games and averages 2.1 points 2.3 rebounds.
