Catching up: Baldwin, Westside take gold at GHSA track
Central Georgia picked up three titles on the final day of the GHSA state track meet last week.
Westside’s Anthony Horton took the boys AA discus, his throw of 154-3 winning by nearly 10 feet. He took second in the shot, by about six feet.
Baldwin’s boys took the 4x200 relay in a photo finish, the Braves’ 1:27.38 nipping Jefferson’s 1:27.46.
The Braves were second in the 3A 4x100 with a 41.82, edged by Jenkins’ 41.61.
In AAA, Upson-Lee’s girls finished 17th, with Baldwin and West Laurens 26th, Mary Persons tied for 29th, and Peach County 34th. West Laurens’ boys took 11th, with Baldwin 14th, Peach County 24th, and Mary Persons 28th
In AA, Westside’s boys tied for 12th and the girls tied for 32nd.
