GHSA rules guru opens Macon Touchdown Club season
The man who interprets the rules in the GHSA is the first speaker at the Macon Touchdown.
Dr. Rick Boedy, also a retired neonatal physician, will talk Monday night at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth on Pierce Ave.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m., and includes dinner, awards, and the talk. Cost is $35 for non-members. Membership for the year is $250.
Boedy has worked 12 state finals in three sports during his long career, coming after he started on Roswell’s 1968 state-title football team and 1970 state championship baseball team. He played football at Florida.
A Raider and Greyhound take Macon TD Club honors
Players from Northeast and Jones County are this week’s Macon Touchdown Club players of the week.
Back: Sophomore quarterback Jordan Wiggins of Northeast was 22 of 29 for 379 yards and six touchdowns, adding 117 yards and 2 scores on 17 carries for a 494-yard night in the 58-40 romp over Perry.
Lineman: Senior linebacker Hunter Hardwick of Jones County racked up 19 tackles, 14 solos, with a fumble recovery in the Greyhounds’ 35-0 romp over Burke County.
