Day One: One bogey, not until 16, and three birdies.

Day Two: Not a lick like Day One.

Russell Henley tripled the number of bogeys – including one double - before the first nine were done, and ended up with more bogeys than anything else in shooting a rugged 80 in the second round Friday of the British Open.

The Macon and Georgia product was done pretty early EST after losing 11 strokes from the first day, with seven bogeys and a double on No. 6, which he parred Thursday.

His 7-over 149 puts him way past the projected cut, listed at 9:30 a.m. at about 2 over, so his weekend is done.

Henley had made five straight cuts after missing two straight (Wells Fargo and The Players Championship). The 80 was his worst round the season, earning that dubious title by three (U.S. Open). It was only Henley’s fifth round this season above 75.

Henley missed the cut in 2016 after a 73 and 77, one shot worse than this visit. His last 80 came, well, right here in 2014, a little more than a month after dropping an 82 in the third round of the U.S. Open.
