Wednesday's Braves Report (final edition): Teheran struggles; Freeman update; Acuna=Andruw?; transactions; minor-league update; trade rumors; notes/observations

Yanks get to Teheran early, offense can’t catch up

The Yankees had more runs on Julio Teheran than innings early, with a 5-0 lead through four en route to a 6-2 win to take the series.

Teheran had eight strikeouts through four innings, but also allowed two homers and five hits in that span. Giancarlo Stanton’s laser three-run homer with two out in the third put the Yankees in some control.

Like Tuesday, Atlanta got down and tried to creep back while keeping the bullpen as rested as possible. This time, the Braves couldn’t get within a run late, only to 5-2 after six despite getting some runners on.

Ronald Acuna struck out with the bases loaded to end the first, and the Braves struggled from there.

Teheran went five, followed by two from newly-recalled Luiz Gohara and one from Arodys Vizcaino.

Snitker on Gohara fastball topping out around 96 mph today: "It was better than when he left. That was the hope, that we’d get him down there (Triple-A) and get him some starts and the stuff would start picking up./DOB”

As long as there is no longer swelling around the right triceps muscle, Snit expects Freeman will be in tomorrow’s lineup/MB
