Macon falls on road

          Forest City had some offensive fireworks during the game and normal fireworks afterward, enhanced by an 8-5 win over visiting Macon.

          A three-run top of the third by Macon tied the game, but the hosts took the lead for good with two in the bottom half.

          CJ Bush and Alex Canty had two hits each for Macon, Jared Kapturasky driving in two runs.            

          Pitchers Preston Sparks, Ben Brock and Holden Nix teamed for eight strikeouts and two walks for Macon, but Sparks (Veterans) was victimized by three homers.

          Next three games: Thursday, 7 p.m., at Florence; Friday, 7 p.m., vs. Savannah; Saturday, 7:05 p.m., at Savannah.

 

DawgNation holds its breath with another injury to Fromm

          For the second time this summer, Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm is making headlines for a booboo.

          The Houston County grad suffered an injury to his left hand while boating on Lake Burton. Fromm isn’t expected to miss any notable work with the small fracture.

          According to reports, Fromm ws on a boat pulling a wakeboarder when the skier let the rope go after falling. The handle came back and his Fromm on the hand.

          Earlier this summer, Fromm went to the hospital after a fishing lure snapped back and cut his leg.

 

United can’t hold lead on the road

          Atlanta had a 2-1 lead after 73 minutes, but Dallas stormed back for a 3-2 win to remain undefeated in 10 home matches.

 

          The game-winner came in the 88th minute.
