Mayhem return Joseph

          Steady defender Chris Joseph has been signed to return to the Macon Mayhem for the 2018-19 season.

          Joseph spent most of last season with Jacksonville in the ECHL, after starting out in Macon. Before joining the Mayhem, he was with Huntsville of the SPHL, and Evansville and Elmira of the ECHL. He’s a graduate of Stony Brook.

          Macon opens the season at home on Oct. 19 against Pensacola.

Georgia wins Southeastern Regional Little League

          Jansen Kenty struck out 13 batters to lead Peachtree City past Virginia 3-0 to win the Southeastern Region Little League Tournament and advance to the Little League World Series.

          Georgia outhit Virginia by only one, and losing pitcher Chad Yates struck out seven in 4.2 innings.

          Georgia got all three runs in the third inning, on a walk, bunt single, single, ground out, and passed ball.         

          Georgia beat Tennessee 1-0, Virginia 4-3, and Alabama 8-3,

          UGA’s Bulldog Club cracked the $80-million mark in fund-raising.
