Central Georgia softball teams advance to Columbus
Houston County, Dodge County, Monticello, FPD, Stratford, and Tattnall will make the desired trip to Columbus next week for the GHSA finals part of the state softball tournament.
Other series start on Thursday, while Perry and GMC will play a third game.

Mayhem’s opening-night roster is set
The Macon Mayhem’s 19-man roster is set for opening night, which is Friday night when Pensacola visits, followed by Fayetteville on Saturday.
Hawks lose season-opener on the road
The Knicks got new head coach David Fizdale off to a good start, and not so much for new Atlanta head coach Lloyd Pierce, with a 126-107 win in the first game of the NBA season.
Former Hawk Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Knicks - who were up 72-49 at the half - with 31 points. Atlanta rookie Trae Young had 14 points, six boards, and five assists, going 5 for 14 in his debut.
