Kinsler, Allen take GSWA All-State honors
Northside’s Kevin Kinsler and Peach County’s Sergio Allen took statewide honors on the Georgia Sports Writers Association all-state football team released Tuesday night.
Kinsler is the 6A coach of the year and Allen the top defender in 3A. Kinsler shared co-coach honors with Baldwin’s Jesse Hicks on The Sports Report’s All-Central Georgia team, and Allen was the defensive player of the year.
Nearly 30 players making the GSWA’s first and second teams made The Sports Report’s first and second teams.

Power rankings out for Class A
Stratford and GMC on the girls side and Hancock Central and Wilkinson County on the boys side are the Central Georgia teams in their respective top-10s in the GHSA power ratings.
Entering the stretch run toward region tournaments, 11 Central Georgia teams are in the top 24, which is how many playoff spots there are: two Class A girls public: GMC and Dooly County; two Class A girls private: Stratford and FPD; five Class A boys public: Hancock Central, Wilkinson County, Macon County, and GMC; two Class A boys private: Stratford and FPD.
