Mary Persons’ Wachtel competes national meet

          Reigning GHSA Class 4A cross country champ Justin Wachtel finished 37th Saturday in the Foot Locker Nationals cross country championship in San Diego, Cal.

          Wachtel’s time of 16:25.9 was less than 80 seconds behind winner Josh Methner of John Hersey High in Illinois.

          Wachtel was 10 runners from the South and only runner from Georgia.

Alumni Update

          Stratford alum Quintez Cephus of Wisconsin was named the Badgers’ impact player of the year on offense as well as the comeback player of the year.

          The team held its awards banquet on Friday. …

          Among the dozen Tennessee football players who graduated Friday is Warner Robins grad Marquez Callaway, also known as “the kid everybody loved”.

          He was also voted as team captain at the season-end banquet, his punt return against South Carolina also named as GoVols247.com’s special teams play of the year.
