The Gators won in the SECIA Kickoff Classic in Montgomery, Ala., pulling away in the second half after taking a 21-12 halftime lead.

Crawford County 15, Central 5
Kryssi Maddox’ 4-for-5 night with three RBI led the way for Crawford County, which pulled away after a 3-2 first inning. Jaimee Hudson had three hits, and scored four times, Aleigha Evans adding two hits and three runs. Kristen Gilbert led Central with three hits and two runs.
East Coweta 10, Tattnall 0
East Coweta scored all 10 in the first three innings of the shortened game, throwing a four-hitter.
Harlem 10, John Milledge 8
A seven-run first put John Milledge in a big hole, but the Trojans were competitive, thanks to a six-run fourth. Olivia Rhodes, Brayden Latimer, and Hannah Reece had two hits each for the Trojans, Latimer driving in two runs.
Hawkinsville 8, Jenkins County 6
The late-game action was huge, with five runs in the seventh, a run each in the eighth, and then the Red Devils getting two in the top of the ninth on an RBI single from Chloe Smith and run-scoring fly from Kirsten Wolters, who then retired Jenkins County in order in the bottom of the ninth. She fanned four with no walks in 2.2 innings of relief, along with a 3-for-4 day at the plate and two RBI. Ashanti Edwards had two RBI and Kaitlyn Newman two hits.
Houston County 8, Jeff Davis 0
Rylee Lamb went four innings and Olivia Brown one in a three-hit, five-inning shutout. Madi Campbell had three hits and two RBI and Averi Martin two hits and two runs for the Bears.
Howard 11, Central 8
The teams exchanged big innings, Howard with six in the fifth for an 8-4 lead and then Central with four in the top of the sixth followed by three by Howard in the bottom half to win. Singles from Kayla Roberts, Abby Mitchell, and Sydnee McElveen followed by a double by Megan Sharpe put the runs across for the Huskies in the sixth. Howard’s 14-hit attack came most from two-hit games by Elle Doolittle, Roberts, Mitchell, McElveen, Sharpe, and Beth Dorough
Howard 2, Crawford County 1
Two runs in the second put the Huskies on top for good in the pitchers’ duel. Sydnee McElveen had half of Howard’s hits. Elle Doolittle struck out nine with two walks in the three-hitter.
John Milledge 8, Lakeside 4
The Trojans scored all eight in the third and fourth innings for the GISA/GHSA crossover win, Lakeside suffering four errors for four unearned runs. Brayden Latimer and Hannah Reece drove in two runs each for JMA.
Jones County 6, Houston County 3
Five runs in the fourth put Jones County ahead for good, the Bears hurt by four errors and five unearned runs. Mackenzie Kilpatrick had a homer and three RBI for the Greyhounds, Kloey Goins and Makinsey Long adding two hits each. Destin Howard struck out 10 in the complete-game win. Makayla Krepps had two hits and two RBI for Houston County.
Jones County 7, Jeff Davis 3
Madison Bennett went 3 for 3 with three runs from the leadoff spot, Destin Howard going 3 for 4 at cleanup for the Greyhounds. Savannah Williams fanned eight with no walks.
LaGrange 4, Tattnall 3
Four Tattnall errors led to three unearned runs in a game of single-run innings and the Trojans outhitting LaGrange by four. Jaelyn Darley, Kaitlyn Halan, Logan Oller, and Kaci Paul had two hits each for the Trojans.
Pierce County 4, Hawkinsville 0
Stratford 6, Richmond Hill 0
Stratford managed only three hits, but four Richmond Hill errors and six walks helped the Eagles. Kenna McElmurray struck out eight.
Taylor County 6, FPD 1
Ware County 11, Dodge County 9
Dodge County outhit Ware County by six, but the Gators scored two in the sixth for the win. The Gators led 6-3 after one, and the Indians answered with two more three-run innings. Dylana Barton, Makiyah Roberson, Aniyah Black, Gracie Lewis, and Ava Roland all had two hits for Dodge County.
Westfield 8, Statesboro 0
The Hornets pulled off the huge win over the GHSA Class 5A Blue Devils, Sydney Langsdon with an efficient one-hitter, striking out three with two walks. Westfield scored runs in five of six innings, led by Marena Knowles three hits and three RBI, Emma Williams, Sadie Hayes, and Avery Adams adding two hits each.
Westfield 14, Treutlen 0
Emma Williams was perfect for four innings, striking out 10 and needing only 43 pitches to do so. She had plenty of offense behind her, led by Marena Knowles’ three hits and four RBI. Avery Adams and Meg Hiley had two hits and two RBI each.
Braves Report
This time, Atlanta outhomered Los Angeles, getting consecutive bombs and a quality bullpen night en route to a 4-3 win to even the series with the Dodgers.
Josh Donaldson and Adam Duvall went yard in the sixth to fire up the largest announced crowd in SunTrust history, 43, 619. Mike Foltynewciz needed a lot of pitches to go 4.2 innings, but was followed by Sean Newcomb, Luke Jackson, Shane Greene, and Chris Melancon, who combined to give up one run and only two hits, with six strikeouts and a walk.
